Well, before taking the horn in I decided that in order to remove the valve cap it would cause some scratching on the horn. So I wiped the area around where it would scratch and what do you know....evidence of old scratching! This was a problem at one time which was addressed prior to my getting the horn. It was probably fixed enough to work (again, this was never a problem as long as I've had the horn), but with built in tension. The work done probably caused the valve section to 'spring back', causing me to believe that it was a new problem when it now appears to have been an existing problem waiting to happen. I'm glad I was careful to check EVERY possibility before making any accusations.

End of story!
