I agree with Jim, a nice Eb with a steady low end is a real treat to play. My 983 does pretty much anything I ask of it. There is some friggin' loud/low stuff that I would like a huge CC or BBb on, but my horn is pretty good for just about everything. It can do anything an F can do and most things a contrabass does... Best of both worlds, especially if you're a poor college kid like me and don't enough $$$ for two horns.
