At Yale University and the Juilliard School, Richard Killmer (oboe) has been known to commute from Rochester, NY twice a month to teach, coach, perform, and rehearse.
Anyone in the oboe world knows that - whether once a month or once a semester - Richard Killmer is about as "real" as it gets. In spite of this schedule, possibly some of the Juilliard and Yale graduates consider themselves ready for the performance world inspite of infrequent contact.
