I have to agree with Matt here, I have both sizes of the Humes & Berg Symphonic Model Mute and they are really wonderful. The only drawback I find with these mutes is their size. They are exceptionally long mutes and the large end of the mute is fairly well rounded so they are pretty unstable if you try and stand them up. They play wonderfully though, mine offer good intonation and a very nasal and buzzy sound. This is the ultimate mute for Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin!
