Don't worry, Jay -- empirical data is certainly better than hearsay...
We were comparing an R&S heavy standard Helleberg to a Conn Helleberg, and the R&S still seemed to be brighter and easier to put an edge on. On certain pitches on my horn it even vibrated -- I didn't expect that at all.
I'd love to see some analysis of vibration resonances in mpc's to quantify what happens. Right now it's all subjective... but, maybe it's best that way!
