Adam,
I used to have a horn like that and played it all the time. It was silver plated and was HUGE. Fortunately for me it was in great shape. I have since sold it (from a shop in NYC). I still own a Cervany Eb model. It is made just like the BBb model... in fact it has the same bore. My emblem reads "Louis Vitak Canton Ohio" I think my BBb also said Vitak but was in Chicago. The Eb plays real well... very conical, very open. real sweet in the upper range. very difficult down low.

If you have ever seen the album that gunther schuller made with the Vaughn Williams tuba concerto my Eb horn is the pictured on the cover. I did have it rebuilt in 1985 by Chuck McAlexander in NYC... he did a great job (raw brass/knickel/copper not a dent to be found).

By the way... how are your valves situated. Are they "sideways" (90 degree from what is normal)
Love to hear more about the exact years from folks.
regards
thom
