What are peeps' experiences of the B&S 4100 F tuba (Mel Culbertson Apollo)?
I am contemplating changing to F tuba (from my 1980 B&H Imperial EEb). Most of my work is lead-line contemporary jazz but with some symphonic and studio work mixed in.
Or suggestions for other suitable tubas for long-period high-playing at high-volume! I want a "singing" horn.....big sound....but not too dark or boomy and able to blend well. A lot of the F tubas available in the States are simply not available for demo here in the UK.
