I recently purchased a 6/4 holton (CC)to play 'just for fun'. I absolutely enjoy playing this thing, and have to say it has had a positive effect on my all around playing. You might consider getting a used horn in a size to compliment your existing BBb (if it's a big BBb get a smallish CC, or vice versa) as to ultimately add to your versatility. The fingering change is not nearly as big a deal as it is sometimes made out to be. As far as the mouthpiece is concerned, you can likely use what you have, but be ready to start building a collection. They are a cheap way (relatively) to alter your sound for different occasions.
