Buy a CC just for fun?

Hey, folks...I was trying out some PTs at Tuba World yesterday. The PT2 (piston) was priced at $6600. Is this reasonable? Also, here's a questuion I'd like to throw out there. I play my BBbs with band and Dixieland.I've never owned a CC, but have a hankering to buy one, just to play for FUN. Now, this statement seems to put some tubists into a tailspin. "You can't play a CC unless you're going professional." "The fingering will throw you off." "The sound will be thinner than on your BBb" (I especially liked this answer, as I have no idea what she meant). Anyway, can't a guy play both BBb and CC, the CC just for fun? Do I need different mouthpieces? I use a Bach 18for the BBbs- same with the CCs? Please, some constructive comparisions to BBb and CC horns. And I agree with those of you who say "Let's lighten up" on the flaming and nastiness. We are a family and need to support and nurture, not spam and downgrade. Sorry, didn't mean to lecture. The CC/BBb comarisons?
