Humble yourself a bit and practice on some beater middle school tubas. You don't need to needlessly permanently scar a $10,000 tuba because it has $30 worth of dents.
I repair musical instruments for a living but, Hey, I read a book about installing natural gas lines in homes. After all, those pipes are made of metal, just like instruments.
