If you ever want to take an orchestral audition that is in a location beyond reasonable driving distance you will have to fly with your tuba(s). Get the flight case now and get used to flying with your horn. Yes it can be unnerving giving your tuba over to the baggage handlers, but get over it, it's part of the cost of doing business. Having insurance should help set your mind at ease.
