I just acquired an old Viennese system Miraphone. It's quite small but plays with a nice focused sound and well in tune. The low register seems better than some of the new conical bore Fs that I've tried. Anyone else out there seen or have one of these beasts? The first three valves are in the left hand which takes a bit of getting-used-to. We'll give it a trial on Brahms Requium tonight.
