Yea I just bought a gig bag (see post below) and I bought it for those times when I dont need a case, when my school has concerts or for All-Region band when I am going to spend the day at the University of Oklahoma playing my horn. For school, yes, my horn does not leave the case unless I unlatch the case and I take out MY horn. Personally I would rather carry a "dent bag" than just wrapping it in a quilt then carrying the "naked tuba" on my back, atleast in a gig bag if you scrape against a wall by accident the horn wont get scratched. Nerdy, sure I will look nerdy pushing around my case, but who cares? Put stickers on your case you might not look as nerdy, who knows? I don't.
