Yes, this is exactly my experience. The Miraphone BBb has the same issues on the low F as a rotary F on a low C. We blame it on the fact that it is a low note, and we therefore blame our low register. But when we switch to F tuba and see the same thing, we compare it to the same notes (actual pitch) on our contrabass, and we are disappointed. Those who play rotary F's as their standard instrument probably think contrabass tubas are out of control on those notes, heh, heh.
