I have a teaching certificate, but never had enough dedication / character / whatever-it-takes to be a band director - facing the adversities of administration, poopy parents, apathy, finances, and attitudes.
I REALLY admire people like you. All three of my children had the priviledge of working under a really dedicated middle school director...what a gift to my family that was!
If you're particularly proud of some certain performance by your band, sometime link a sound file to this bulletin board...
...and I'm quite sure that you are indeed a "pedagogical expert".
