So buy a a "vintage" olds or reynolds, any model. They all play in tune and sell really cheap. The swivel-bell models are best because you can set it to stun (upward) and kill (forward). I've never used the 4th valve for anything except playing cello or tuba music. One friend of mine bought a fancy new Willson euph but it played horribly out of tune around the second leger line F and was ruining the sound of my brass group. I lent him a $75 reynolds and he liked it a lot better though it had only 3 valves.
