I agree completely. In my opinion, the standard teaching for tuba players is flawed in that beginners are always started in Bb, Eb, F, Ab and then maybe C or G. Perhaps the key of D should be taught at the same time as Bb. G with F, A with Eb, etc... Sharps aren't just for strings.
