OK, I can understand relativity. Buying a tuba is relative to the way it allows you to sound measured against how you want to sound. But, what I keep reading is that the differences are due to quality of workmanship, a bad solder joint here, a misadjusted valve there. That these things can impact tone and intonation in small yet perceptible ways is understandable. What I read makes me believe the differences are major. I think I was reading more into what was being said than I should.
