If this all caps behavior is really offensive and begs for correction, then we are required to modify and correct a few other behaviors that might be construed as offensive as well. If we must start to correct other's behaviors, then please, out of courtesy, refrain from ALL CAPS. Please do not write in all small case letters either. Out of courtesy, and out of a sense of decency, capitalize proper nouns, initials (followed by periods), and first words in sentences. Punctuate properly, and of course, do not write run-on sentences. Spell correctly. If you can not spell correctly, there is a wonderful invention called the DICTIONARY. USE IT! Double space after a period. (Yes, periods are necessary to end a sentence or finish a thought.) The lazy, internet/chat room-style typing and spelling (which is apparently acceptable to some of the internet-saavy) is offensive by its very nature to all who hold the English language dear, not to mention the impression that is left of the author. If one is going to complain about online manners, then one must FULLY examine the situation instead of focusing on one isolated posting by one author. That having been said, and now that nearly everyone is offended (not my intention), DOES ANYONE REALLY CARE? Let us go back to discussing the realm of tubadom and all its glory. Last time I checked, Sean Chisham is in charge of this BBS, and only HIS rules are what govern this site. If Sean is offended by our BBS etiquette, or lack thereof, he will certainly voice his concerns and enforce the rules. The rest of us should relax and enjoy the opportunity Sean has given us to discuss what we love and enjoy, etiquette notwithstanding.
