I recently bought a Deck model Meinl Weston that I am very happy with. I have found the low end (low G and F#, in particular) to be quite stuffy compared with the 4/4 tuba that I sold to buy this beast. I currently play on the heavy R&S Helleberg copy that I think has a smallish backbore. Can anybody suggest a mouthpiece that would be similar to mine, but with a more open backbore?
I understand that the best option would be to just try out a couple dozen mouthpieces and pick the one that works best, but that is difficult to do here in Idaho. Any advise is appreciated, 2165 owners in particular.
