Can't cut on a 186??? Somethings wrong! A 186 is a cutting machine and you can easily bury an orchestra on that horn. The only thing you lack is mass. No, you can't make a 186 sound like a 6/4 horn! It was not designed to do that. The mirafone is best at the Forte level and below. Yes it will certainly play louder but the sound is best BELOW Fotre. The mid sized horn, for most of us, is used just for that mid sized works. Wagner is not that. Yes you can do Wagner on a 186 but not very easily. It's kinda like hookin up a 10,000lb trailer to a VW. Hhmmmmm.... It MAY move it but not very easily!
