OK folks, you'll be able to hear Ron Bishop playing Prokofiev's 5th Symphony from a record store near you starting October 17th - that's the release date. You'll find it on a new DG, all Prokofiev "Panorama" twofer reissue. A "twofer" means two discs for the price of one. Actually, the master tape was one of those fabulous late analog ones that Decca made in Cleveland in the mid and late 70's. I've received an advance copy of this and let me tell you, Ron Bishop sounds fabulous! And man, could Maazel and the Clevelanders ever smoke on Prokofiev (Romeo & Julliet; Cinderella, and now this). Highly recommended!
