but at least a long time ago when Conn would put a different (read use-able front-action) valveset on the big horn, they'd also turn the body around so that the horn played in the right direction! Shame they didn't make more of those horns that way, somebody was prolly out there aggressively selling the recording basses - chasin' a buck I suppose, and the so-called "really" good horns are rarer than hen's teeth. No matter though, for many of us who used/loved/hated/suffered with the immens-o-phone recording basses now are spending 2 or 3 g's just to have one knocking around. Think the new werils will be the same way in thirty years?
