Last year my band teacher showed me a tuba stand. At first I thought know way I'm are they going to make me use that thing. Beacause I am a girl I knew all the guys would laugh at me and I really didn't want to deal with that.
But I desided to go ahead and try it. What I learned is that it helped me greatly.It gave me the support, and the extra balance I needed. Since I've started using the stand my sound,and breathing has inproved. (Just DON'T be afraid to try new things!)
