I have heard of techs cleaning, removing scale, etc with bright dip. If the horn (casing) or valves are done in this way, and thus come out "bright", hasn't a layer of material been stripped from the surface?
Is this OK or not?
I also seem to remember a thread which attributed some new sticky valves with an aging (or galvanic?) process while the bright clean surface of valves/casings develop a thin protective oxidation on the surface.
Would this sticking tend to re-occur each time the horn is cleaned in this way?
Is bright dip OK? or.. How many times?
