Disclaimer: I thought of this question before seeing that last thread. I don't think it was directly touched on there; if it was, my apologies in advance.
Anyway, the way I learned vibrato was by experimentation, which eventually produced what
everyone seems to call the jaw vibrato. My teacher at the time had never attempted to
teach me vibrato even though when he played for me (or with me) at the lesson, he used
it extensively. Apparently, I learned it right because he never said
anything (I can tell it sounds good anyway). My question is (as someone who will likely give private lessons at some point) how and when do you teach a student vibrato?
