No offense,
Although Marzan tubas are some of the best sounding, easy blowing, responsive tubas ever built. They are far from having the best intonation. Why else would every slide, including the MAIN, be put within grasp of the left hand. I like the design personally and would love to have a Marzan horn, but his horns have far from perfect intonation. No insult to the Dr. or his tubaseuphoniums but the compensating feature on the Willson is a huge improvement over the old one, as Chuck (G) mentions it isn't as popular to have compensating tubas. Also, take note of the bore size on the Willson (.590-.610-.630 or something like that), it is huge, whereas I'm guessing the Marzan non-comp is around .560-.570.
