The valves on my 1976 B & H Imperial EEb, 4-valve, are hard to press so that my fingers get tired, and the 2nd valve sticks even though I oil them. I am going to replace the tacquets or vavle keys or valve guides as they are called, and I hope the repairman can fit them well. I believe the excess movement due to worn valve guides and not-so-good alignment might make the valve action slower and harder. (Of course, less likely is the case that a valve or the stem is bent; but you said all your valves are problematic.)
In a previous posting, someone recommended that a person be careful to push the pistons in as straight as possible in order to aid the valve action. If you try this or have a comment, let me know. thanks. Bill
