I believe this subject about the Alex double has come up before on this BBS. Follow the air path carefully and you'll see that the "switch valve", rather than switching the airflow to a new set of valves and branches, merely adds another set of valves and branches to the F side to bring it to CC. While this seems to work, the downside is that you're running the air through twice as many valves when you're in CC. The upside is that it keeps the weight down. But I don't know if I'd call this a "full double"; more like a horn-and-a-half scheme.
