If you don't want to do it then don't. If possible, help them find a replacement. Don't feel like you are obligated to continue especially if you are not being paid or being way underpaid. If it is a free gig then you are under even less obligation. If you are being paid then you really should try to find a replacement, if possible.

I have been in that situation before and know the guilt you feel from leaving, especially when the people involved are nice easy going sorts. In the end though it is best for both you and the ensemble to separate.
