No, I HAD To Pay. There is no way I could do marching band and be able to stay a good player, period. That is one of the problems with the majority of state Universities. Too many good musicians have to waste valuable time on the marching field. On average, a college student spends 21-25 hours of their week in marching band. Also, I am a non-traditional student. Do you really want to be in marching band at the age of 27? I'm not bitter about my situation, and I don't appreciate the tone of your response. I don't post here to be replied to in a spiteful way. My whole point of using my situation as an example is to back up the statement that their are KICK A** players who don't always receive great scholarships. If someone wants to perform and can't get a good scholarship, they still can succeed through diligence and practice.
