The Rudolf Meinl model 43 CC tuba is the best all-around tuba I have ever played. It is agile and "delicate" enough to work wonderfully in quintets and solos, but also can pack a punch that few horns can match for balancing with large groups. I know you're not looking for a big orchestral horn, but it might be a nice complement to your large horn. For quintets I have played the Yamaha 822 F, B&S F, Alexander F, Cerveny Piggy CC, Mirafone 188 CC and the RM-43. The RM is the best quintet/all-around horn by far.

Thanks again, Ike!
