Advice on a solid small horn?

I just started a new position as the Assistant Director of Bands at Eastern Washington University, which includes teaching the tuba lessons and all the stuff that accompanies. The other brass faculty members have expressed interest in continuing a pre-set faculty brass quintet, which I'm all for except for one thing: my only horn is pretty darn big. Not enourmous, but it probably won't fit into the "delicate" quintet blend very well. I got away with solos and chamber work on it while I was a student, but I'm guessing that's not going to cut it with these cats for very long.

So, in a longwinded manner, my question is this: can anyone reccomend a solid, all-around small horn? One that can serve as a solo instrument and still has a real presence to the sound for supporting chamber groups?

Thanks in advance for all your help!
