I have pretty much figured out what my problem is. My embouchure is too tight/firm, my mouthpiece pressure is too great, and I (now probably) need to use more air.

What is the best way to go about fixing these? Are there any breathing techniques or tools that work better than others? I am going to be auditioning for the highly acclaimed Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra that has 2 tuba spots available (I am not really expecting to get the position but I will try my darnest.) the audition is in Mid-September. I would like to have my problems fixed by then.

Thanks for any suggestions. Thanks to all for bearing with an aspiring tuba player using his resources to raise the bar.

Graham W.
