What you say is true. I did bust my tail to pay for this camp, but there's a difference between $1,000 and approx. $5-8,000 it will take for me to move up to a pro horn. Not to mention I'm now going to college for repair, which cuts into my working time significantly.
My attitude right now with this is: If I find a horn that I feel is a significant improvement over what I have, I will strongly consider purchasing it. However, I'm not going to buy a Brand X horn just because a teacher tells me to.
Is this the proper attitude to have?
