I play an 861. It works quite well. I wish it had a bigger bell, but I don't have a big horn like you do to to make up for that. The horn is quite consistent and well in tune with itself. The rotors work nicely, but you will probably want some harded bumpers in them. the stock ones are a little too squishy. This horn is my only one, and it is doing the job nicely (University student). The 861 is a brighter norn than the Rudy.
My prof plays on a 4/4 Rudy (old one) and it's a realy nice horn. The 861 and the Rudy are likely quite simlilar in concept and design.
