This recording is monumental in it's impact on OUR present. We have to remember that at the time this recording was made, the general view of the tuba was the typical humorous oom-pah designation. That Bill Bell made a commercially viable, yet serious in many aspects, album was a huge step forward for all of us. While there may have been what some people consider fluff on the recording, there is also a "Judas Maccabeus" and "Isis and Osiris". If Yuba needed to be included, so much the better. I love Bell's singing voice and am GREATLY impressed with the musical integrity which he approached all the works. Music doesn't always have to be serious, just seriuosly approached.
