Yes, I suppose a 'tuba tamer' is what I've heard them called. Anyway, the approach to the lead pipe is around the opposite side of the bell on a front action tuba. All you've gotta do is sit down to the left of the bell of a top loader and put your hand on the valves. With a front action horn, you've got to wrap your arm around to the front. It's next to impossible to play a front action tuba while it's in a stand.
