I know that this has been discussed many times in the past (yes, I have done a search in the archives) but I am interested in the assembled wisdom on the following specific situation.
As a sort of year end bonus to myself I have decided to buy a smallish tuba to use in some quartet stuff I have been asked to do. I am strongly leaning towards one of the new Werils that Joe S. and others have been commenting about. My question is CC or BBb?
A few relevent points:
1. I am a software engineer by trade not a tubist, I have about 5 hours/week to practice.
2. I have always played either BBb or Eb.
3. I play in a couple of different groups and am a reasonably competent player.
4. I have no need to rush to learn the CC since I can play the quartet stuff on my Eb until I am ready on the CC.
So what to my fellow luggers of brass think?
