Doggy Miraphone?

I've been used to playing mainly BIG Eb horns like an old King 1235 and a Conn 28K 4V sousa. Recently I acquired a Mirphone 183-4 (serial #7374 dating it about 1971). The horn is in great shape and I am pleased with everything except B and C below the staff. The Enatural even sounds good with either the 1-2-3 or 2-4 valve combinations. It just takes one heck of a lot of work to center the B and C and then I can't play them very loud at all. Some have said that this is a quirk with the Miraphone Eb and one person even referred to the horn as a 'dog'. Originally I posted on the TubaEuph BBS seeking help with mouthpieces to help me fix the problem. I've been using the same Conn Helleberg regular and 7B as I usually use on the bit EEfers. Any advise? Sell the horn?
