The difference is that it is an artist's intent to evoke an emotional response, while a purely scientific endevour may produce a result that only evokes emotion amongst other sceintists.
Interesting approach.
What about "music" that is very blatantly "bad" by public standards, and thus in essense only provokes emotional response from other musicians?
