I haven't found a similar experience on the BBb. The low Eb at 124 is much more difficult on the Miraphone than on the York Master. And if I'm in old-man mode, the York's false tones are also much better. In fact, my Miraphone, much as I like it for many applications, doesn't play as well even on the low F, which corresponds to my general impression of rotary tubas.

A bandmate was playing a rotary B&S-made four-valve CC. He could not manage the low F at all in the piece we were playing (it was marked pp), even though in all other registers he is a fine player. If the 186 CC can play the low F well, then that would make it stand out among the rotary instruments of similar size that I have played.
