HONG KONG PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Announces auditions for the following positions beginning on September 2, 2001:



(1) Tutti Violin

(2) Tutti Viola

(3) Tutti Cello

(4) Tutti Double-bass

(5) Third Associate Concertmaster

(6) Utility Oboe / Cor Anglais

(7) Fourth / Utility Horn

(8) Second Trombone

(9) Assistant Principal / Utility Horn

(10) Principal Flute

(11) Tuba




Singapore Annual salary for positions (1) to (4) will be HK$347,160 (US$44,508), for positions (5) to (8) will be HK$399,120 (US$51,169), for position (9) will be HK$449,160 (US$57,585), and for positions (10) to (11) will be HK$506,040 (US$64,877). (At the time of writing, US$1 = HK$7.80). Benefits include medical and instrument insurance, life and personal accident insurance, eight weeks full-paid summer vacation, and return air-ticket(s) for Player and spouse from normal city of residence to Hong Kong.

Auditions are being planned in SINGAPORE on April 29th (evening), and April 30th, 2001. Applications stating choice of day, with a full résumé and a REFUNDABLE Sing$150 (or US$100) auditions deposit made payable to “The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra”, must be sent by mail to reach the following before April 10th, 2001:
