Hey Randy, I just had the leadpipe replaced on my Bossey & Hawkes. I put a Besson 981 leadpipe on it and a Dillon AGR (My horn was similar to the Besson 982). I also mounted the leadpipe off the bell. WOW what a difference! The horn just rings now and the low register is much more open. I don't think I'll be selling it anymore. Also the guy who did the work did an awesome job (Harvey's Happy Horns in Boyertown). He made it so you can hardly see where the old leadipe was. He polished the horn up. It never looked better! I'm in love with the horn again! Check out a 981, unless you are looking for a smaller F- type sound, then try the Besson 983. Sorry if I sound like a Besson junkie? (My wife has a Besson Euph too!), I'm just all hot and bothered right now!
Later man, ken k
