Yes, we like to not use words like "perfection" and we like to pooh-pooh someone who says they practice a gazillion hours a day. The question is why? Achievement is there to be taken. It is earned and not taken lightly by those who do work to earn it. Complacency and laziness are the enemies. Every time we pooh-pooh someone else's good work habits or someone’s drive to perfection saying that it is either impossible or ignorant we invite a little more mediocrity in our lives, and our society.

If some people had their way, we'd have all been given equal amounts of talent, wit, smarts, physical prowess, and money. Thank God for differences in individuals, differences in opinions, and the freedom to voice them. And thank God for the ability for all of us to ignore those that say "it can't be done" when we sure as hell know that it, whatever "it" is for you, can be done.

You only hold yourself back. I'm headed back to the practice room.
