shallow m.p./large tuba?

I've been thinking. Maybe a shallow/bowl mouthpiece will work real nice on larger tubas. I usually use Helleburg style m.p.'s, but am interested in bowl m.p.'s now. One of the perfect tuba sounds I can think of is the Chicago Symph./Franck Symph. in D Minor recording. I think Jacobs was using his York with a shallow mouthpiece. Does anyone on here have experiences using a shallow/bowl mouthpiece like a Schilke69C4, etc. on a 5/4 or 6/4 tuba? How is the low register response?
Thanks.
