Please don't take this the wrong way as I am asking this question out of my own ignorance. But how many of the 26 euphonium majors at UNT can actually make a living playing euphonium after college? Since I don't have a degree in music I really don't know how that sort of thing works. Will most of these students wind up teaching music somewhere or are there really performance jobs waiting for them after graduation?
I hesitate to bring this up, but I have never understood why a musician can get a degree in performance, but an athlete can't get a degree in their sport no matter how good he/she is.
