In Tennessee, Nashville Symphony musicians are delighted to drive to Clarksville, Tennessee (and other college towns) to do this.
Memphis Symphony Musicians are delighted to drive to Martin, Tennessee; Oxford, Mississippi; and other college towns to do this.
Apparently to these musicians "the drive" is a viable alternative to "nothing".
What distance is the longest known daily commute for the Joe Schmoe's who work in Manhattan?
