it appears that some folks here have missed the point of the original "Our Business" post

the point, IMHO, was to circle the wagons, rally the troops, and stand up for one another (and to stand up for the art and the craft of music)

not that the average musician be paid the same salary as an average MLB player

the crux of the post was to gather support for fellow musicians, not greed and money grubbing

apparently, the #1 thing on some folks' mind is the wage they earn or the pride they take in the wage they DON'T earn (Todd - this means you) and not the product...if there is no forum to produce the product and no outlet to share...then what is the point of all your talent and practice????

you become like that proverbial tree falling in the forest -

music, of course, has it's own reward and there is satisfaction in one's own abilities

however in the end, music is the international language, a means of communication, and not something one should hide under a bush or only do for self-gratification; and music is not something that deserves little-to-no compensation for those that do it well

it seems that those who are consumers of music lend more support to the musicians than they do to each other, and that is sad and wrong!

"My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary."
Martin Luther
