They show up individually in the International Musician, on orchestra websites, and even here every time there's an audition for a job in a particular orchestra. As far as services go, the big orchestras play in excess of 300 services a year (52 weeks-10 weeks vacation x avg. 8 services a week). Most of the orchestras on the list average 7-8 services a week. Also, most of the orchestras have Mondays off, allowing many players to fill that day with teaching.

Also, the information is not misleading, with a little common sense (Minneapolis is obviously a less expensive place to live than San Francisco) and a cost of living comparison calculator.
